Founded on April 1, 2003, the New York Urban League Young Professionals (NYULYP) is a diverse group of 21–40-year-old professionals who are committed to providing a unique networking opportunity for individuals to associate with like-minded individuals interested in community service, personal and professional development, civic engagement and civil rights, and access to employment opportunities.
In the last 5 years alone, NYULYP has mobilized young professionals across the 5 boroughs of NYC to volunteer over 100,000 hours of service to our affiliate and community, petition our local lawmakers on issues like “raise the age” and “stop & frisk”, support local Black & minority business owners though our marketplace opportunities, volunteer at the 35th annual NYUL HBCU Fair supporting 6000+ high school students and their parents, and give voice to our young professional community through the State of Young Black New York Conference. And that’s just a part of what they do! NYULYP continues to provide the critical work in the name of compassion, service, justice, and advocacy. Today, NYULYP is still an award-winning, nationally-recognized chapter that continues to help young professionals soar across NYC and beyond. As they celebrate their 20-year anniversary, they invite our friends, families, and supporters to invest in their mission and to help them continue the great work they are doing to serve NYC communities.
